Alors qu’il était annoncé du côté de Manchester United, le jeune attaquant Néerlandais du PSV Eindhoven a décidé d’opter finalement pour Liverpool. Les deux parties sont tombés d’accord pour le transfert de Cody Gakpo pour un montant évalué entre 40 et 50 millions d’Euros. Un véritable coup réalisé par les Reds pour la seconde partie de la saison avec notamment les retrouvailles en Ligues des Champions avec le Real Madrid. Cody Gakpo va découvrir la Premier League après avoir disputé sa première Coupe du monde où il a crevé l’écran avec les Pays-Bas en inscrivant trois réalisations.
